Which Redken Hair Mask is Best For You?
Our hair can be exposed to a fair amount of stress – sun exposure, heat styling, colouring, the list goes on…. Sometimes we just need to give our hair a little bit of TLC – and there’s no better way to treat your tresses than using a hair mask.
Hair masks are specially formulated to treat and condition the hair shaft, bringing lustre and shine back to your hair. We recommend you use a hair mask in place of your usual conditioner once a week for optimal results. A handy hint is to apply your hair mask with a wide-toothed comb from the roots to the ends. You can also soak a towel in hot water, wring it out and wrap your hair for an at-home spa treatment. Rinsing the mask out with cold water will help to close the hair cuticle off and lock in shine.
Here’s our guide to Redken hair masks and their perfect hair type match.
1/ Acidic Perfecting Concentrate Leave in Treatment – for Bleached Hair
The ideal option for hair repair from within for lightened and bleached hair. This leave-in conditioner helps to reinforce weakened bonds in hair, and provides intense conditioning to seal ends and prevent hair breakage. As well as healing bleach damage, it works as a defense for hair – protecting your locks from heat damage and colour fade, all the while taming frizz and adding shine.
How to use: Ideally use as a complete system with Acidic Bonding Concentrate Shampoo and Conditioner. Apply to clean, damp hair. Leave in. Do not rinse. Style as usual.
2/ All Soft Heavy Cream Deep Conditioning Treatment Mask – for Dry and Brittle Hair
As we head into the warmer months and spend more time outdoors you may find your hair getting a little brittle. This mask is infused with argan oil and is a great hydration option for increasing suppleness and manageability to strengthen your hair. This intense nourishment will condition hair from root to tip, leaving your locks healthy and hydrated. This is an especially good product for those who like to spend time in the pool or ocean. Bye bye brittle and hello body!
How to use: After shampooing apply to towel dried hair. Leave on for 5 minutes and rinse.
3/ Extreme Mask for Damaged Hair – for Damaged Hair
This mask is a deep conditioner with intense benefits for damaged hair. It is made with Redken’s Strength Complex with protein and lactic acid to help balance pH levels, conditioning hair back to strength and smoothness. With deep moisturising properties this is a great option for hair that has been heavily treated or styled in the past and is needing a new lease on life.
How to use: After shampooing apply to towel dried hair. Leave for 3-5 minutes and rinse.
4/ Color Extend Blondage Express Anti-Brass Mask – for Blonde Hair
This mask is a blonde’s new best friend. Redken’s Color Extend Blondage Express helps you to maintain your perfect shade of blonde from the comfort of your own home. As well as giving your hair a beautiful gloss, this ultra-pigmented purple hair mask cancels out brassy hues and keeps blonde tones cool, bright and healthy. We recommend blondes stock this one at home and throw it in their travel bags for an instant colour refresh whenever and wherever it's needed. This product also comes in icy blonde, honey beige and rose blonde shades for your perfect colour match.
How to use: Apply on wet hair, let sit for 5-10 minutes and rinse.
5/ Frizz Dismiss Hair Mask Intense Smoothing Treatment – for Frizzy Hair
Frizzy hair can be a real cause for frustration. Designed specifically for frizz-prone and unruly hair, this mask boasts Redken’s Smoothing Complex with sustainably-sourced Babassu oil for frizz control and hair manageability. It will work to soften, moisturise and hydrate unruly hair back to health, and is a great option for curly and wavy hair to lessen the flyaways and bring back the bounce.
How to use: Apply to wet hair after shampooing, leave in for 3-5 minutes and rinse.
