Get the Look: Six Steps to Achieving French Girl Hair

Today we’re sharing our best tips for achieving great hair - inspired by the French.

1/ Use Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo is a French girl go to when it comes to hair styling. Here are some of our favourites:

  • Redken Deep Clean Dry Shampoo: A high-performance dry shampoo which provides maximum oil absorption for all hair types. It is silicone-free, sulphate-free and talc-free and can be used even on third and fourth day hair. This product also provides a cooling sensation for a deep clean feel.

  • Redken Powder Grip 03 Mattifying Hair Powder: A styling product that acts as a dry shampoo – Redken 03 creates volume and texture that transforms the hair surface to a matte finish with fullness. This hair volume powder adds grip and can be used for creating a tousled texture or a lasting updo.

2/ Apply a Weekly Hair Mask

Applying a hair mask weekly will help your hair to retain moisture, allow colour to last longer and will create shine and vibrance. Here are some of our favourite Redken  hair masks to treat yourself with:

  • Extreme Strengthening Hair Mask for Damaged Hair: A strengthening protein hair mask which conditions, strengthens and repairs damaged hair.

  • Color Extend Blondage Anti-Brass Purple Hair Mask for Blonde Hair: A purple pigmented mask which helps to remove brassy tones from blonde hair.

  • All Soft Heavy Cream Deep Conditioning Treatment Mask: An anti-frizz moisturising hair mask for dry and brittle hair.

  • All Soft Mega Mega Deep Conditioning Treatment Mask: A deep-conditioning argan oil hair mask that controls frizz and moisturises dry and damaged hair.

  • All Soft Mega Deep Conditioning Treatment Mask: Another product in the Reden Mega range – a moisturising mask that leaves hair soft for up to three washes.

  • Color Extend Magnetics Mega Hair Mask for Color-Treated Hair: A powerful hair mask that leaves hair intensely nourished and radiant for up to four weeks of long-lasting protection.

3/ Let Your Hair Air Dry

Allowing your hair to dry naturally helps prevent heat damage and makes for a natural look. We recommend you squeeze hair with a soft towel to absorb excess moisture (be sure not to rub your hair as this can roughen the cuticle and make hair look frizzy). After removing excess moisture, use a wide toothed comb to gently detangle hair and set your part.
